7 Questions with Dallas Mavericks Luka Doncic

Luka: It’s definitely a challenge, but I try to stay focused on the game and not let the outside noise affect me. I have a great support system, including my family and teammates, which helps me stay grounded.

Interviewer: Your passing ability is often praised as one of your strengths. How did you develop such great court vision?

Luka: I’ve always loved studying the game and watching great passers like Magic Johnson and Jason Kidd. I spend a lot of time studying film, understanding defensive rotations, and trying to anticipate plays on the court.

Interviewer: You have an impressive skill set and can score from anywhere on the court. What aspect of your game are you currently working on improving?

Luka: I believe there’s always room for improvement. Right now, I’m focusing on improving my three-point shooting consistency and my conditioning to become more dominant in late-game situations.

Interviewer: The Dallas Mavericks have a strong international presence, with players like Dirk Nowitzki and yourself. How does it feel to be part of this global legacy?

Luka: It’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of legends like Dirk and to be part of the Mavericks’ international legacy. I take pride in representing my country and the global basketball community.

Interviewer: You have a great on-court chemistry with your teammates. How do you build and maintain such strong connections on the court?

Luka: It starts with building relationships off the court. Spending time together, communicating, and understanding each other’s tendencies are vital for developing that chemistry. We have a great group of guys who enjoy playing together, and that makes a big difference on the court.

Interviewer: What’s your favorite memory from your rookie season in the NBA?

Luka: My favorite memory has to be winning the Rookie of the Year award. It was a special moment for me and a recognition of the hard work I put in to make an impact in the league.

Interviewer: You’ve had many incredible performances throughout your career. Is there one game or moment that stands out as your personal favorite?

Luka: One of my favorite moments was hitting the game-winning shot against the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2020 NBA playoffs. It was a huge moment for our team and showed that we could compete at the highest level.
